Individual Tutoring
When a parent contacts the Eagle Center for Learning about our tutoring services, we will schedule an appointment for the parent and child. There is no charge for this initial visit.
We will do an informal assessment of the child in the subject areas of concern. It is helpful for us to see examples of work from school, school textbooks or typical homework assignments.
The purpose of the initial visit is to learn about the child's needs and set goals for instruction. At this time, we will discuss the goals and schedule options. Parents should plan on 45 minutes to one hour for this initial visit.
Because each child has different academic needs and reasons for tutoring services, we do not require parents to commit to any contracts. Services are provided on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Classes and Enrichment Workshops
Parents who are interested in the various classes, please contact the Center to register. Students will be placed in classes based on their age and academic levels. Payment is required prior to the start of the class.
How to Get Started
If you are interested in our services, please contact Karen Martini at 610-458-2005, email us at info@eaglecenterforlearning.com, or complete the contact form on this website. Karen will contact you to answer questions and schedule an informal assessment of your child. Based on the information you provide and the assessment, we will determine the best options for your son or daughter.
Eagle Center for Learning Policies
- Payment is due by check or cash at the time tutoring takes place or prior to the start of a class.
- Please give 24-hour notice for cancelled sessions with a phone call or email.
- If the Center is closed due to inclement weather or an emergency situation, you will notified by email or phone, and information will be available by calling our answering machine.
- A $25.00 fee will be charged for returned checks.
- A $10.00 fee will be charged for missed sessions with no notice.
- If your regular tutor is not available for a session and a different tutor is available, you may choose to reschedule that session or work with a different tutor.
- Refunds will not be given for missed classes. You will receive a credit which can be applied to the fee for any Center activity.
- Tutoring sessions are typically scheduled for one hour. The time can be adjusted, if necessary, based on the need of the individual child. Because the needs of students vary, families do not commit to a set number of sessions. The needs of the students will be assessed on an on-going basis by the Center and the family.
- Small group classes during our Sumer Learning program typically run for 50 – 60 minutes a session. The program is designed so that families may register for the weeks that are convenient for their family schedule.
- The Writing Classes and Literary Circles are one-hour long and designed to run for four–, six– or eight–week blocks, based on the ages of the participants and the goals of the instruction.
