Who We Are
The mission of the Eagle Center for Learning is to provide quality, individualized instruction to students to achieve their specific learning goals. We identify specific skills to be taught and use a variety of teaching methods tailored to an individual's learning style and strengths. We provide direct instruction for specific skills and teach strategies which can be used in a variety of learning situations.
We are also committed to providing small group instruction in reading, writing and math to support academic skills during the summer months and during the school year for families who homeschool.
Karen Martini founded the Eagle Center for Learning in September 2010 after 17 years at The Crossroads School in Paoli, Pennsylvania, where she was an Instructional Supervisor and classroom teacher. She has also privately tutored for the past 18 years.
Karen's particular interest lies in teaching reading and writing at the elementary level. Her years of classroom experience have taught her teaching strategies to help improve a child's reading comprehension, word recognition and fluency. Her instruction in writing helps a student with vocabulary development, organization and fluency of content.
Karen earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education of the Exceptional from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Cabrini College. She is a certified teacher with additional training in the Project Read, Read Naturally and School Attuned programs.
Joining Karen at the Center are a complement of highly qualified educators. The tutors of the Eagle Center for Learning are committed to providing the best possible service to your family. All of our tutors are certified teachers, come highly recommended and have experience in teaching their subjects.
Your child will be assigned to work with the same tutor during each session. This allows the tutor to learn your child's strengths and needs in order to develop the best possible plan for achieving your child's individual learning goals.
